Q) What are the award or contract amounts?

A) Estimates are $240,000 for regular WIA Youth Services and $250,000 for ARRA funded Summer Youth Employment Experience.


Q) Do separate proposals have to be submitted for each county if a bidder wishes to apply for more than one county?

A) Yes.  Bidders may submit proposals for more than one county but a separate proposal must be submitted specific to each individual county.


Q) Will ACDJFS tell us the number of youth to be served?


A) ACDJFS will not be specifying numbers served but estimates or target numbers should be included in your proposal.


Q) Do bidders have to provide the numbers of youth who will be successful, the number of youth gaining employment, etc.?

A) Specific numbers are not required but may be included.  Required measurable outcomes are listed on page 9, section D, item 1.


Q) Are there a certain number of hours the WIA youth must be employed per week?
 

A) The are no prescribed number of hours the youth must be employed.


Q) It is our understanding that Ashland currently serves 80 to 100 youth, split about 50/50 between in-school youth and out-of-school youth.  Is this information correct and is this also consistent with previous years?


A) This information is correct and it is also the trend over the past few contract periods.


Q) Tutoring and study skills as well as alternative secondary schools services already exist through other funding sources.  Anyone in the community can access these programs at no cost to the participant.  Can we just refer to these organizations and still be a comprehensive program?

A) The contractor will be accountable and responsible to assure that all 10 elements are provided to participants as needed.  The contractor can arrange service provision through formal and informal service delivery agreements.  Proposals must describe in detail how each element is present in the project.


Q) Are the worksites that your current provider has or is currently using public record?

A) Yes, that information is public.
